About
Dr. L. N. Thakural is presently working as a Scientist-E, Surface water Hydrology division at National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee under Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. He did his B. E (Civil) Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, M. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T), Roorkee, and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T), Roorkee. He specializes in Remote Sensing and GIS applications in Hydrology and water resources, Hydrological modeling, Climate Change and Water Conservation & Management.
He is the State Coordinator of State Specific Action Plan for Water for Uttar Pradesh launched by Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. He has been also the Nodal officer for the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and Jal Shakti Abhiyan-Catch The Rain (CTR) and State Coordinator of State Specific Action Plan for Water for Uttar Pradesh launched by Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. He is also a Key Resource Person for the National Jal Jeevan Mission (NJJM) program.
He is the Nodal officer for the Swachh Bharat Mission and is being honored with the title “Swachhta Hero” of Roorkee for his involvement and contribution by leading Swachhta and awareness programs under the Government of India.
He has also served as Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil & Electrical) and OIC, Construction. Moreover, executed the duties of Finance Officer and Senior Administrative Officer at National Institute of Hydrology.
