Dr A.K. Lohani is currently serving as a Scientist G & Head, Surface Water Hydrology Division at National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee and Head & Coordinator, Centre for Flood Management Studies NIH, Guwahati, Coordinator, Central India Hydrology, Regional Centre, Bhopal, Training Coordinator World Bank Aided National National Hydrology Project, Coordinator, Decision Support System (Planning & Management) under National Hydrology Project. He has also served as Head Computer Centre of National Institute of Hydrology and Training Coordinator of World Bank Aided Hydrology Project-II. He did his B.Tech. from G.B. Pant University of Agril. & Technology, Pantnagar, (UK), M.Tech. from I.I.T., Kharagpur and Ph.D. from I.I.T., Roorkee. His area of specialization is Surface Water Modelling with a focus on rainfall-runoff modelling, Flood Management, Dambreak Flood Analysis, Glacial Lake Outburst Modelling (GLOF), Flood Forecasting, Design Flood estimation, Application of Soft Computing Techniques in Water Resources. Dr Anil Kumar Lohani is a recipient of the United Nation Development Programme Fellowship and worked as visiting faculty at San Diego State University, CA, USA.
