About

Dr Nema is a water resources engineer currently a Scientist-E in the Water Resources Systems Division of the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand (INDIA). He has 18+ years of experience in the water sector, including R&D, consultancy, and project management. Dr Nema has handled various other technical and administrative responsibilities independently. He leads the functions as Head, Training Cell and Officer-In-Charge, Remote Sensing and GIS Lab for the institute's IPR cell. In his previous assignment, he has also served as Scientist-In-Charge of the Western Himalayan Regional Centre of NIH at Jammu. His area of expertise is Hydrologic Modelling, focusing on Impact studies of Climate change, Experimental Hydrology, Estimation of Evapotranspiration, Water Audits, and Application of advanced tools such as Artificial intelligence, Remote Sensing, GIS, etc. His areas of professional consultancy include Water availability studies, carrying capacity studies, power potential studies, etc. He is a life member of a few professional water societies, like IAH, ISRS, IAHS, etc. He has been involved in more than 20 consultancy and sponsored research projects and guided 11 M Tech Thesis. Published more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed International/National journals, International/National conferences and ten technical reports. Dr Nema has published more than 20 technical articles in Hindi. He has organized 16 training courses for researchers, faculty members and water resources practising engineers. Dr Nema visited the United Kingdom and Indonesia for scientific work.
